The Truckee River Park at Wingfield was completed Nov.
4 to much enthusiasm from the local population.
Much of the buzz created by the new half-mile park was the possibility that the new park will entice more kayakers and rafters to the Truckee River and to downtown Reno.
"It was an instant hit," said Chris Chrystal, media relations manager for the Nevada Commission on Tourism.
The new park also makes the river more accessible to prospective kayakers and rafters from both sides of the river.
