Elsie Devaney, who volunteers at the Nevada State Library and Archives on Mondays, recommended I stop by and see the hangings decorating the lobby.
"They have 12 huge beautiful pennants that show the 12 days of Christmas," she said.
The pennants are lovely and are actually a mixed media, with things like the partridge in a pear tree sculpted on the pennant.
Elsie said a women who works at the library and archives worked very had on the pennants.
She has been a volunteer at the library for two years and has lived in Carson City for 21 years.
"The New Jersey company I worked for moved out of town and went to Kentucky so I was forcibly retired," she said. "My son lived here and loved it. I moved here and I've never been back."
The library folks had their Christmas party Tuesday.

On Christmas Eve, I drove down Hells Bells Road to see what has become a Carson City holiday tradition.
Residents Michael and Joan Bell have been putting out luminaries for the past five years. Quite a few of the little sacks with candles inside were still burning at 10 p.m. when I made my way into east Carson City to see them alongside the road. They ran all the way from just past the curve where the Hells Bells turns east and down around the corner to Marsh Road.
Carolene Concannon called me Christmas Eve to tell me about the luminaries.
"It is so magical," she said. "Once they are out there, you just look and it's breathtaking."
Concannon's granddaughters, Katie and Rebecca, help the Bells put out the lights and pick them up the next day.
"This is a wonderful thing for the Bells to do and everybody on the street appreciates it."

Carson City resident Jay Logue brought me a picture and an item about his son, Senior Airman Jason M. Logue, who went to Baghdad in mid-November 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Jason is assigned to the 447th AEG/447 ECES Escort section, Baghdad Airport, for a minimum tour of 120 days.
Jason was born in The Netherlands in 1980, and graduated from Guam High School in 1998. He attended the University of Maryland (Guam campus) and Western Nevada Community College in Carson City.
He entered the Air Force in 2000 and is an aircraft weapons systems specialist stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson, Ariz.
Jason also has deployed twice to Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Southern Watch.
Jay is an officer with the Capitol Police and is married to Agnes. Jay retired from the Air Force as a senior master sergeant.

Steve Wozniak called me Wednesday to say the family is moving out of state.
Harold Wright and Robert Marek were family members of Steve and were killed July 31, 2002, along with 16-year-old Louis Norton in a collision with Mark Fejervary.
A judge cleared Fejervary of responsibility in the deaths of Harold and his two teenage passengers, and Steve says he can't continue living down the road from where the accident happened.
"I gave up a driving career in this state, because they can't keep the roads safe," he said.
