Elke Hoppe

A memorial service for Elke Hoppe, 64, a Carson City resident for the past five years, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Hoppe died Dec. 26, 2003, at home. She was born April 6, 1939, in Bremen, Germany, to Erich and Erna Dippel Kieserling.

She was raised in Germany, lived in Boston from 1959-63 then moved to San Francisco.

She married Wilhelm Hoppe in 1966.

Mrs. Hoppe and her husband owned and operated a pastry shop and bakery in the Bay area for 10 years. They moved to Incline Village, where they lived for 17 years before moving to Carson City.

Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; sister, Ute Frehling of Melle, Germany; and brother Karsten Kieserling of Bremen.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
