Joseph D. Kobus, 86 died Jan. 15, 2003, in Carson City.
A graveside service is planned at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Monterey City Cemetery in Monterey, Calif. He resided in Monterey for many years before moving to Carson City in 1980.
Born Aug. 4, 1916, in Baltimore, M.D., he worked as a U.S. Forest Service firefighter and patrolman. He later worked for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Cobus of Carson City and several cousins on the East Coast.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City is handling the arrangements.
