Obituary: Wilma Nelson

Memorial services are 6 p.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley for Wilma Jane Nelson, 80, a Carson City resident for 18 years. Mrs. Nelson died June 29, 2003, in Carson City.

Born Feb. 21, 1923, in Fresno, Calif., to William and Louise Kinney Sorenson, Mrs. Nelson attended Roosevelt High School in Fresno.

She married Robert Carrol Nelson on June 5, 1948, in Fresno.

She lived in North Fork, Calif., before moving to Carson City. She was a homemaker and shopkeeper and antique store owner in California. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her parents and husband, who died in California.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William R. and Martha J. Nelson; brother and sister-in-law, William and Gayle Klette; grandchildren Christopher and Jeremy Nelson; and a niece and nephew, both of Carson City.

A private family graveside service will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice in Reno. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
