Nancy Wenzel

The Public Utilities Commission has appointed Nancy Wenzel as utilities hearings officer effective August 11.

Wenzel is currently a senior deputy attorney general for the Bureau of Consumer Protection in Carson City Wenzel worked at the Public Service Commission (the commission's predecessor organization) as an administrative attorney from 1995 to 1997.

In 1997, she went to work for the Nevada Attorney General, where she spent the past five years with the Bureau of Consumer Protection.

The utilities hearings officer is a new position that was approved by the 2003 Nevada Legislature.

The utilities hearings officer will schedule and preside over administrative proceedings, but will not vote on any matter before the commission.
