Obituary: Carlton Olds

Funeral services for Carlton Olds, 77, a Carson City resident for the past 27 years, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fitzhenry's Chapel of the Faith.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Fitzhenry's Chapel of the Faith.

Mr. Olds died at his home June 13, 2003. He was born July 5, 1925 in Escondido, Calif., to Carlton Sr. and Ruth Rhodes Olds.

Olds married Ruth Bowser in Carson City on Feb. 15, 1952.

He was a member of the Masons, Sierra Club and Eastern Sierra Oldsmobile Club. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He loved restoring Oldsmobiles and GMC trucks and enjoyed hiking and abalone diving.

He was a Baptist.

Among his survivors are his wife Ruth of Carson City; son, Jeffrey Olds, of Carson City; daughter Linda Stainbrook of Carson City; sisters Carolyn Crumpacker of Fresno, Calif., Margaret Olds of Selma, Calif., Joyce Colgrove of Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
