Obituary: Lola Mae Withey

A memorial service for Lola Mae "Noni" Withey, 77, a Carson City resident for the past 37 years, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Withey died June 12, 2002, in Carson City. She was born Oct. 11, 1925, in Grand Forks, N.D., to Stanley and Henrietta Fowler Churchill.

She married James J. Withey. He preceded her in death in 1998.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Concord, Calif.

During World War II, Mrs. Withey worked in production of aircraft at Boeing in Seattle. She enjoyed bowling and playing bingo and was an avid soap opera fan.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant twins Steven and Cynthia in 1963.

Among her survivors are her sons James J. of Carson City and Mark of Sacramento; daughter, Linda Kimball of Belle Fourche, S.D.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
