Carson City recently saluted its Outstanding Employees of the Year with a luncheon and awards ceremony.

Supervisor Robin Williamson stepped in this year to officiate the awards. Mayor Ray Masayko, Supervisors Pete Livermore and Shelly Aldean, department heads, co-workers, friends and family were on hand for the ceremony April 16.

The 2003 Carson City Employees of the Year are:

Bryon Hunt - Fire Department

Dan Chaney - Sheriff's Department

Charles Lambert - Sheriff's Department

Gail Carter - Sheriff's Department

Rose Gardner - City Manager's Office

Donna Fuller - Street Department

Vern Markussen - Street Department

Richard Schroeder - Street Department

"Smitty" Smith - Parks & Recreation Department

Deborah Wiggins - Building & Safety Department

Garry Ells - Library

Merlene Alt - Treasurer's Office

Ben Bianchi - Juvenile Probation

The Child Support Division of the District Attorney's Office was also recognized for their outstanding efforts in the Team Category. Teams members were Gina Menzel, Ann Buoncristiani, Karen Weece, Betty Sealy, Cherie Santillo, Deidra Ritter, William Thomas, Vicki Chittenden, Trina Dahlin and John Warne.

Volunteers Charyl Peterson and John Doran were recognized for their service to the Fire Department, Pat Glick for helping in the library and Rod Davis for assisting in the District Attorney's Office.
