Obituary: Alma Icephene Ford Fredrickson

Alma Icephene Ford Fredrickson, 104, died April 23, 2003 at her home in Markleeville, Calif. She was born May 11, 1898, in Whiting, Kan., to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Leonidas Ford.

She graduated from Chadron State College and taught in rural schools and Chadron city schools.

She married Bert W. Fisher in 1925. He preceded her in death. She returned to teaching in 1937 and married Arthur L. Fredrickson.

Mrs. Fredrickson was baptized in the Christian Church. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She was a past matron of Ivy Leaf Chapter No. 60, Order of Eastern Star in Chadron and past president of the Chadron Federated Woman's Club. She was also an alumna of Nebraska State College of Chadron and a member of Captain Christopher Robinson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Among her survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Edgar Dutchy of Markleeville; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Private inurnment will be held Sunday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Barton Memorial Hospital Hospice Program.
