Out & About: Community calendar Of events and activities

I hope that every mother had a wonderful Mother's Day and enjoyed spending time with your children.

I cannot imagine that all of us moms have time to read the whole paper until the day is long over. I know several of you missed the sports page on Saturday. There was a notice about the Carson City Little League's annual Father's Day Pancake Breakfast fund-raiser. This is as traditional as hot dogs, apple pie and, in this case, Toyota trucks.

This is a fun, relaxing day to enjoy a large pancake breakfast at Seeliger Elementary with no dirty dishes to do. Your ticket stub goes into a drawing for a 1994 Toyota Runner SR5 SUV. courtesy of Dick Campagni Carson City Toyota, Capital Ford and Carson City Mazda Hyundai.

So keep a lookout for baseball players selling tickets to help Carson City Little League.

You do not have to spend money to enjoy a good time. The fine music of Carson High graduate Cristina Neil will be presented by the Capital City Community Band on May 21.

The band is a volunteer organization founded in 1978, as a performance and continuing music education venue for adults. Neil will perform in an old-fashioned band concert at the Community Center. This concert is reminiscent of shows performed during the John Philip Sousa era. Spend time with your family and be entertained for the right price -- free!
