Obituary: James "Corkey" Fuller

James "Corkey" Fuller, 73, a Gardnerville resident, died May 28, 2003, at his home after a long illness. He was born Oct. 17, 1929, in Fillmore, Calif., and graduated from Fillmore High School in 1947.

He lived most of his life in Ventura, Calif.

After high school, he joined the U.S. Army.

Mr. Fuller spent most of his life working in oilfields. He owned and operated West Coast Directional Service from 1974 until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and loved fishing.

Among his survivors are his daughter, Linda Amen of Gardnerville; son, Jim, of Ventura County; and sister, Chris Burnham.

Memorial contributions may be made to a hospice or a charity of choice.

Services are pending.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
