Truckee Meadows Community College said it is offering a new class to help ESL speakers learn the vocabulary and math skills necessary to study for the Nevada State contractor's license exam.
Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept.
23 through Oct.
30 from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
at TMCC's Meadowood Center, 5270 Neil Road, Hunter Lake class room.
The cost of the class is $160 and includes a math book.
Prerequisites for the Introduction to Contractor's Examination include: Low advanced ESL level (CASAS test score 220; sixth grade math level (CASAS test score 220); experience and knowledge of a construction trade; a calculator Instructor Fernando Villarreal will teach basic English terminology for insurance and bonding, business law, business administration and basic math.
