Susan Gulas, nurse practitioner in medical services with the Reno Veteran's Administration Hospital, has been selected to receive the 2003 "Hands and Heart Award." The national VA award was established to recognize direct patient caregivers who go above and beyond their routine duties to deliver quality care in an exemplary, compassionate and caring manner.
Gulas is being recognized for her clinical expertise and her work as a preceptor, in Pain Clinic groups and Parkinson's Support Group.
She has worked at the Reno VA hospital for 30 years.
