Scott E. Workman

A memorial service for Scott E. Workman, 60, a Carson City resident for the past 20 years, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Workman died April 19, 2004, at Washoe Medical Center. He was born Dec. 10, 1943, in Barnsville, Ohio, to Herman F. and Mary Truex Workman.

He graduated from high school in Canton, Ohio.

He married Gale Stewart on Sept. 26, 1998, in Carson City.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Virginia City and Vallejo, Calif.

Mr. Workman owned and operated Scotty's Paint Etc. His first love was street rods, and he was an active member of Obsolete Iron Street Rods of Reno.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Among his survivors are his wife Gale Stewart of Carson City; children Penny Barnes and Jackie Gainer of Vallejo and Jason Workman of Omaha, Neb.; stepchildren Michael and James Stewart and Nikki Dobson of Carson City; sister, Carol Hunter of Louisville, Ohio; brothers Norm of Louisville and Gary of Houston; and 12 grandchildren.

Inurnment will be in Vallejo.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
