Veterinary Ventures, a Reno-based company that got its start with a line of bubbling water fountains for pets, these days is widening its beachhead in the animal-products market.
The Drinkwell fountain developed a decade ago by Dr.Mary Burns, a Reno veterinarian, soon will be joined on the shelves of pet stores nationwide by the company's Big Dog line designed for,well, big dogs.
It's already selling well on the company's Web site.
Next up is a cleaning kit for the fountains line, says Sean Rowe,who soon will become general manager of the company.And a new litter scoop isn't far behind.
"We're real happy with where we're at," says Rowe.
