Cynthia Pollard, director of public relations at Tufts University in Massachusetts, has been named vice president for marketing and communications at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Pollard has more than 25 years experience.
She joined Tufts from Sony Electronics' where she served as director of public relations.
Prior to that she worked at Mercury Communications and AT&T.
Pollard is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and holds a master's degree in international communication from American University in Washington, D.C.
She serves on the executive committee of the Public Relations Society of America's Counselors to Higher Education and also serves on the University of Missouri Alumni Association Communications Committee.
