Clark & Sullivan gets into construction management

Clark & Sullivan, a Reno-based construction company, has added a construction management division.The services offered through new division range from project management to specialty services such estimating, scheduling and litigation support.Program management services include the coordination of projects involving multiple sites, multiple years, and issues that cross single-project boundaries.Project management services, meanwhile, include oversight of design, approval, funding, permitting, equipping and construction.Clark & Sullivan President B.J.Sullivan said clients increasingly want to hire builders as a professional service, much as they hire attorneys or engineers.The new division, he said, provides services based on that model.Dick Cowan has been named president of the construction management division and will oversee all activities in this area.He has worked on such projects as the Denver International Airport, California State Capitol Restoration and the Sacramento Main Library.Cowan earned a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Cornell University in New York and a masters in construction management from the University of California, Berkeley.He is a registered professional engineer in California.
