Leonard Frederick Paul

A funeral service for Leonard Frederick Paul, 78, a Minden resident for the past 22 years, will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville.

Mr. Paul died Jan. 18, 2004, at home. He was born June 25, 1925, in Los Angeles, to Frank W. and Vada Paul.

He grew up in Hollywood, Calif.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Southern California.

Mr. Paul worked as a highway engineer with the Federal Department of Transportation for 32 years, retiring in 1980. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Elks Club of Minden.

He served in the U.S. Navy for three years during World War II and was stationed at Pearl Harbor.

Among his survivors are his wife, Virginia of Minden; sons Steve Paul of Santa Cruz, Calif., Ken Paul of Durango, Colo., Mike Pirrone of Anthony, N.M., and Steve Pirrone of Van Nuys, Calif.; daughters Janet Paul of Traverse City, Mich., Jean Paul of Hollywood and Nancy West of Victorville, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Mottsville Cemetery in Gardnerville.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
