A4 crimes 3/13/04

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

- A 28-year-old firefighter from Carson City was arrested at 4:51 a.m. Saturday on the corner of Telegraph and Curry streets on a misdemeanor warrant out of Carson for contempt of Court. A cash-only bail was set at $1,000.

- A 42-year-old Carson City maintenance worker was arrested at 2:15 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of West Caroline Street on a misdemeanor warrant out of Carson for contempt. Bail was set at $10,000.

- A 25-year-old Carson City man of unknown employment was arrested at 5:36 a.m. Saturday in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $247.

- A 19-year-old, unemployed Carson City woman was arrested at 3:08 a.m. Saturday on the corner of East College Parkway and Research Way on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence and minor consuming alcohol. Bail was set at $1,132.

- An 18-year-old, unemployed Carson City man was arrested at 4:05 a.m. Saturday in the 3400 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of misdemeanor first-offense driving under the influence. Bail was set at $1,132.

- Felipe Vanegas, a 37-year-old Carson City door maker, was arrested at 10:15 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of West Caroline Street on suspicion of felony probation violation and misdemeanor domestic battery. He was placed on a no-bail hold.

- A 40-year-old Carson City food service driver was arrested at 10:20 p.m. Friday in the 3200 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of misdemeanor first-offense driving under the influence. Bail was set at $1,132.

- A 39-year-old transient meat cutter was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Carson City Sheriff's Station in the 800 block of East Musser Street on two misdemeanor warrants, one for criminal contempt and one for failure to appear in court. Bail was set at $2,258.

n Deputies responded to the following calls:

- A woman reported her 15-year-old daughter had not returned home from an evening out with friends at 2:38 a.m. on Saturday in the 100 block of Koontz Lane.

- A hit-and-run accident was reported at 2:46 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Hot Springs Road. Deputies found the suspect vehicle several blocks away.

- A coroner was called for an expected death at 3:13 a.m. Saturday in the 3000 block of North Ormsby Boulevard.

- A cab driver reported a drunk, uncooperative fare at 5:23 a.m. Saturday in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East. A 26-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct.

- A woman reported a man left death threats on her answering machine at 7:35 p.m. Friday in the 3600 block of Kings Canyon Road. A deputy used a reverse-direction call to learn the source of the threat.

- A 7-year-old boy did not want to go home from a house at 8:15 p.m. Friday in the 7 block of Kit Sierra Loop because no one was home and he didn't know where his parents were. He was placed in child protective custody and his mother arrived 40 minutes later.

- The manager of the Motel 6 in the 2700 block of South Carson Street reported too many people in one room at 10:18 p.m. Friday. A deputy checked for warrants on each of eight teenagers who came out of the room.
