Meridian elects board members

Christopher R. Lattanzi has been named non-executive chairman of the board of Reno's Meridian Gold Inc.

He succeeds David S.

Lattanzi has been a member of the Meridian board since 1999.

He's president of Micon International Limited, a minerals consulting company based in Toronto.

A mining engineer with more than 40 years experience, Lattanzi is a graduate of Australia's University of Melbourne.

Robert A.

Horn has 35 years of minerals exploration experience, most recently as vice president of exploration for Inco Limited.

He also has worked as a vice president of exploration of FMC Gold in the United State and BP Canada.
