Silver West office complex to open in January

The $2 million Silver West Professional Office Complex on North Carson Street and Nye Lane will open in January, seven months after construction began.

Co-owner Ben Steele said Monday the 22,745-square-foot professional office complex will house Steele & Associates CPA, Dynamic Diversified Development Enterprises, Gateway Access Solutions headquarters and a dentist's office.

Steele & Associates, Dynamic Diversified Development and Gateway will move from 704 W. Nye Lane.

The new building is also owned by his son, Jon Steele, and Eugene Lepire. Dynamic Diversified Development is owned by Lepire. His company, in partnership with Steele LLC, is developing the two-story building. The building isn't completely occupied. About 5,000 square feet are still open.

Steele said the partners decided to develop their own building along North Carson Street because they couldn't find a smaller lot to purchase. They've invested about $500,000 in the land, he said.

"We thought it'd be an excellent location because everything is moving north with the hospital and the freeway access off College Parkway and Carson Street," he said.

Gateway Access Solutions, a high-speed wireless data services company, will relocate its national headquarters and support center into the new office complex.

Company President Andy Nester said about 20 employees will be hired over the next year.

"We build wireless cites around the country and we have offices in Albuquerque, (N.M.) and Danville, Pa.," he said. "We'll be building in other markets around the country. Our main support center will be in Carson City."

Nester said he chose Carson City because of its proximity to his Incline Village residence and "it looked like a good location, a good labor pool."
