June Rose Ashman

A memorial service for June Rose Ashman, 84, a 14-year resident of Carson City, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Silver Hills Community Church.

Mrs. Ashman, age 84, died Sept. 30, 2004 at home. She was born June 12, 1920, in Fredrick, Colo., to Fred and Laurel Palmer Smith.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Sparks for 45 years.

She married her husband, Frank, on April 18, 1943, in Lynwood, Calif.

She was a homemaker and member of the Silver Hills Community Church. She enjoyed bird watching, especially the quail in her yard; gardening and keeping in touch with her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and brothers Vertner, Bill, Everrett and Lowell Smith.

Among her survivors are her sons Ken of Lunenburg, Mass., and Dave of Hamilton, Mont.; twin brother, Fred Smith of Yerington; grandchildren Amy, Russell and Emily; and great-grandchild Hannah Rose.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory and inurnment at Mountain View Cemetery.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
