Carson man arrested in flashings

MINDEN - A Carson City man has been arrested for allegedly exposing himself at several Douglas County businesses.

Julio Corona-Juarez, 27, is being held in the Douglas County Jail on suspicion of gross misdemeanor open and gross lewdness.

Beginning in January, the sheriff's office received numerous reports of a male subject seen exposing himself in several retail stores located in northern Douglas County. All of the victims gave similar descriptions of the suspect, said Sgt. Tom Mezzetta.

Mezzetta said Corona-Juarez was identified after a Nevada Highway Patrolman read the news account with a physical description, a description of the suspect's vehicle and saw a composite drawing of the suspect.

The highway patrolman recognized both the physical and vehicle descriptions as being similar to a motorist he had recently stopped for a traffic violation.

On Friday afternoon, Corona-Juarez was contacted at his home in the 1400 block of Como Street in Carson City. After an interview with investigators, Corona-Juarez was arrested and booked into the Douglas County jail where he remains in custody with a bail amount of $2,500, Mezzetta said.

Open and gross lewdness is a gross misdemeanor and is punishable by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, and or by a fine of not more than $2,000. People convicted of open and gross lewdness may also be required to register as a sex offender with local law enforcement.
