No cause determined in Washoe Valley fire

WASHOE VALLEY - Investigators are waiting for debris to be cleared before they can begin to examine what caused a Washoe Valley home to burn to the ground last week.

Nevada Division of Forestry Capt. Ray Pagni said the two-story home at 7410 Bryan Canyon Road was a complete loss, leveled by a fire Friday.

"We haven't been able to get in there yet because it's just really unsafe right now," he said. "We are probably going to start tomorrow if the insurance company has equipment there clearing (the property)."

The home was fully involved when members of the Reno Fire Department, Washoe Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Fire Department and the Nevada Division of Forestry arrived about 6:35 p.m. Friday.

The home was for sale and a real estate flier on the property listed the selling price at $1.77 million.

Crews attacked the fire from all four sides of the home with an additional team working to prevent the spread of the fire to surrounding brush.
