Jim Thomas has been named executive director of the Center for Watersheds and Environmental Sustainability in Reno.
Thomas earned his doctorate from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1996.
He was a research hydrologist at the U.S.
Geological Survey in Carson City for nearly 20 years before joining the
Desert Research Institute in 1999.
