Sierra Pacific Yerington station earns safety honors

The 36 employees of the Sierra Pacific Power Company Fort Churchill Generating Station 10 miles north of Yerington will be honored next month for working 18 years without a lost time injury at the power plant.

From 1987 through this March, employees of the plant will have worked 6,570 days 1.3 million man-hours without a lost-time injury.

The plant operates with two, 12-hour work shifts daily, 365 days per year.
