IP law firm opens office in Reno

Klarquist Sparkman, LLP, an intellectual property law firm based in Portland, Ore., has opened an office in Reno.

Rinehart, a current lawyer with the firm who has moved to northern Nevada, will be joined in the Reno office by Robert C.

Ryan and Ryan A.

Heck.

Ryan has more than 25 years of experience in intellectual property law.

He was a founding partner of McAndrews, Held & Malloy, Ltd., in Chicago.

In addition, Ryan served as the chief legal officer for StarGuide Digital Networks, Inc., a company he helped to create as its outside intellectual property counsel.

Ryan earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1976.

He received his law degree from Northwestern University in 1979.

Rinehart is a patent attorney, focusing on software patent prosecution.

He received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1998 and his bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Kansas in 1994.

Heck earned a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1998 and a law degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2001.
