Satre, former chairman of Harrah's Entertainment Inc., has been elected to the board of directors of Reno-based Sierra Pacific Resources as well as the boards of Sierra Pacific's two utility subsidiaries, Sierra Pacific Power Company and Nevada Power Company.
Satre, 55, retired as chairman of Harrah's on Jan.
1 after a 24-year career with the company.
He was an attorney in Reno for five years before he joined the gaming company.
A graduate of Stanford University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Satre earned a law degree from the University of California, Davis, in 1975.
