Advertising association honors individuals, groups

Tom Rodrigue was honored with the Thomas C.Wilson award by the Advertising Association of Northern Nevada last week.

Other honorees were Tim O'Brien as Ad Person of the Year,Moms on the Run as the Promotion Person/Group of the Year and the Rose/Glenn Group with the Community Contribution Award.

The Thomas C.Wilson award received by Rodrigue honors lifetime achievement.He's spent more than 30 years in advertising.

Rodrigue recently retired as a sales representative with A.

Carlisle & Co.He served as president of the Reno Ad Club for two terms and was executive producer of the annual Sheep Dip Show, which raised over $300,000 toward advertising education in northern Nevada.

Rodrigue also served as president of the Craftsmen Club and as a member of the task force that started Reno Air Races.

Tim O'Brien, senior creative director with R & R Partners, Reno,was honored for singular excellence in advertising over the past year while also demonstrating community involvement.

His campaign for the Nevada Commission on Tourism received national recognition.

O'Brien has been involved with such non-profits as the Reno Film Festival, the Nevada Women's Fund, Truckee Meadows Tomorrow and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Moms on the Run, an organization that raises funds to fight breast cancer, was honored for its promotional activities within the community.

Rose/Glenn Group was honored for its "We Love This Place" campaign.
