A memorial service for Gertrude E. "Trudy" Burke, 75, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in FitzHenry's Chapel.
Ms. Burke died Feb. 22, 2005, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Jan. 24, 1930, in Eaton, Colo., to Joseph W. and Tabitha A. Chastain Miller.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Sacramento and before that, she lived in the Bay area for most of her life.
She worked for Bausch & Lomb and Lockheed.
She enjoyed her family and loved to travel and play nickel slots.
Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law Michael E. and Marlene Hamilton of Vacaville, Calif.; son Steven W. Murphy of Carson City; daughters Kathleen P. Teal of Dalles, Ore., Sunny K. Johnson of Carson City, Marcia Sangster of Carson City, Theresa Farrelly of Dalles, Ore., and Lynn Edwards of Carson City; sister Doris Giffin of Sacramento; grandchildren Matthew, Mark and J.C. Hamilton and Andrew Teal; and nine nephews and five nieces.
