Mary E. Jones, 77, a Minden resident for the past 21 years and a native Nevadan, died Oct. 31, 2005, at her home. She was born March 5, 1928, in Nevada, to Ben and Ruth Nichol Howard.
She married Vernal E. Jones on May 17, 1947, in Elko.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and reading.
She was preceded in death by her brother Stanley Nichol and daughter Susan Galarza.
Among her survivors are her husband of Minden; daughters Linda Preston of Shingle Springs, Calif., and Cathy Jones-Tynes of Minden; grandchildren Wayne, Bret and Brad Preston, Jamy and Josh Galarza and Whitney and McKinze Tynes; one great-grandchild and brother Pat Howard of Phoenix, Ariz.
A private family memorial will be held.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial is in charge of arrangements.
