CANstruction, an event in which teams of design professionals and students build structures from cans of food that's later donated to the hungry, is scheduled for Nov.
17-18 at Atlantis.
it's a project of the American Institute of Architects to benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
Organizers have created a partnership this year with the Builders Association of Northern Nevada to promote student teams.
Other sponsors are the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, Albertsons, Inc.
and Larry J.Macias, AIA, Ltd.
Last year,more than 13,000 cans totaling 15,500 pounds of food were collected.
