Union Pacific work crews have completed installation of a switch in the railroad's main line that will allow for rail service into the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center east of Sparks.
on I-80.
The switch connects with the three miles of track currently completed in the center.
Another 3.6 miles of track are being laid in the 104,000-acre industrial park.
Work has begun, meanwhile, to expand the industrial center's sewage treatment plant.
Currently the sewer treatment facility handles 350,000 gallons per day.When the expansion is completed before the end of the year it will be able to take care of 1.2 million gallons per day.
