John Mudge, director of environmental affairs and social responsibility for Newmont Mining Corp., has been appointed to the Nevada Commission on Mineral Resources.
Mudge, who is based in Reno, will represent large-scale mining interests on the commission.
He holds a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Idaho and a master's in business administration from the University of Nevada, Reno.
