Jeff J. Gans has been named senior vice president and chief underwriting officer at Reno-based Employers Insurance Group.
Gans succeeds Martin J. Welch, who earlier this year was appointed EIG's president and chief operating officer.
Most recently, Gans was senior vice president for underwriting operations with AON Underwriting Managers in Chicago. He also has held management positions with CNA, Fireman's Fund and USF&G.
He graduated from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in economics with a concentration in insurance.
