Theodore B. Berndt, M.D., a cardiologist in practice with Reno Heart Physicians, will be the first recipient of the Arthur J. Lurie M.D. Distinguished Physician Award in recognition of humanitarian medical and community service to northern Nevada.
He is the former chief of cardiology at Washoe Medical Center and serves on its board of directors. In addition, he was a founding member of the Washoe Medical Center Foundation board.
