The Truckee Meadows Community College workforce development and continuing education division has launched a truck-driving program for commercial licensure in collaboration with Horizon Commercial Truck School.
The six-week program allows students to prepare for their commercial driver's license while earning credit toward a certificate or degree.
The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation lists truck driving among the state's Hot 50 Demand Occupations, projecting nearly 800 job openings annually.
