Michael Applegate has been named chief operating officer of Sparks-based SulphCo Inc.
Applegate spent the majority of his career at Applegate Drayage Company, a Sacramentobased tractor-trailer fleet operator in California,Nevada and Utah, serving as president of the company since 1988.
He also has served as president and chairman of the board of the California Trucking Association.
He is a graduate of the University of California, Davis.
