Bruce J. Sabacky has been promoted to chief technology officer of Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. of Reno.
He previously was vice president of research and development for Altair.
Before joining Altair, Sabacky was manager of process development at BHP Minerals' center for minerals technology in Reno.
He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in metallurgical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and his doctorate in materials science and mineral engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
