Charles McNeely, Reno's city manager, received the Stene Award for Managerial Excellence from his alma mater, the University of Kansas School Of Public Administration.
The award recognizes exceptional management of an organization, including creation of new programs, resolution of difficult problems and completion of long-term goals.
McNeely joined the City of Reno in 1996.
