Sheet metal firm to build at TRIC

Thybar Corp. has purchased a 3.5-acre site at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, and the custom sheet metal manufacturer plans a 35,000-square-foot facility.

The plant will be the fifth for the company based in Addison, Ill. It also operates plants Dallas, Akron and Louisville.

Thybar will employ 15 to 25 at the manufacturing facility east of Sparks.

Construction of the metal building is expected to begin by the end of the month. Span Construction of Madera, Calif., is the general contractor.

William Evitt, president of the company, said Thybar decided to launch the new facility to serve its West Coast markets. The location at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center is central to those markets, he said.

Thybar, a 40-year-old company, makes products for the heating and air conditioning industry and other applications.

Among its products is a rooftop curb to isolate the vibration from heating and air conditioning units.
