Meadowood-area retail designed

Neil Crossing, a 9,000 square-foot retail center is planned on a one-acre lot in the 6100 block of South Virginia Street. Moody Wieske Contractors will build the center, designed by architect George Trowbridge, Jr. The leasing agent is Mark Keyzers at Alliance Commercial.

Chris Hotze, a principal at Wellington Development Co. of Houston says, "The buzz surrounding Whole Foods has created a lot of energy around the site. We've had interest from banks, medical users and restaurants."

Whole Foods plans to open a 50,000-square-foot store at Virginia and Neil directly across from Neil Crossing.

And, he adds, since Whole Foods leased the former ShopKo space, Wellington has also had a rash of inquiries from people wanting to buy the site outright.
