Colorado chooses Alere

Alere Medical, Inc. last week was chosen by the state of Colorado to begin managing its Medicaid recipients with heart failure. Reno-based Alere already manages Colorado's Medicaid patients with asthma.

"The establishment of a medical home is vital for members with chronic heart failure who would benefit from regular contact with a physician," said Christy Hunter, Colorado's disease management coordinator.
