Capital Engineering Inc. of Carson City has been acquired by Manhard Consulting Ltd., a firm based at Vernon Hills, Ill.
Terms weren't disclosed.
Donald E. Manhard, the president of Manhard Consulting Ltd., said last week the firms have collaborated since 2003 on several projects. He said Manhard Consulting, which already operates an office in Reno, looks to widen its presence in the northern Nevada market.
Capital Engineering's owners, Mark Rotter and Ken Dorr, will continue to work with Manhard, and the company's existing staff will be retained.
Rotter will work as a Manhard area manager, and Dorr will work as senior project manager.
Capital Engineering was founded in 1989. Its portfolio includes private projects including Summerhawk in Carson City, Riverpark in Dayton and North Valley Plaza in Douglas County. It also has handled public works projects including roads and water and sewer systems.
Along with its Nevada and Illinois locations, Manhard operates offices in Colorado, Arizona, Georgia and Indiana. Nationwide, the firm employs about 350.
