Michael Pevy, a Reno real estate broker, has become the first franchisee of Weichert, Realtors, in the Reno market.
Pevy's firm will operate as Weichert, Realtors Pevy & Associates. The company has tripled its space at 1895 Plumas St. and is recruiting additional agents.
Weichert, headquartered at Morris Plains, N.J., has 500 company-owned and franchised offices in 32 states.
Pevy began his real estate career 18 years ago after working at the accounting firm Price Waterhouse. He became chief financial officer of a real estate development company in North Lake Tahoe and left in 1989 to form his own agency, First Resort Properties. In 2000, he moved to Reno and opened a real estate brokerage.
