Reno Toyota hires Q&D for dealership

Reno Toyota said last week it's hired Q&D Construction to build its new 295,000-square-foot dealership on Kietzke Lane.

The project is scheduled to begin in June with demolition of the existing Reno Toyota building.

Before construction begins, the Toyota dealership will move across Steen Street to the Reno Mazda/Kia building just south of the Reno Toyota facilities. The Mazda/Kia dealership is moving to new facilities on South Virginia Street.

BJG Architecture and Engineering of Reno is the architect for the project, which includes a showroom and the shop and storage areas.

The facility will include a storage area for up to 620 new vehicles, 49 service bays, two alignment bays, 10 express service bays and a seven-bay detailing area, said General Manager Ryan Dolan.

The dealership will also use high-efficiency induction lighting fixtures to reduce energy usage and provide better quality light.

The new facility is scheduled for completion in late 2009.

Reno Toyota, owned by Tom Dolan, has been in the current Kietzke Lane location since 1982.
