Valley Concrete Co. and Q&D Construction Co., Inc. were recognized last week as top contractors for 2007 by members of the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors.
Also recognized were Titan Construction Supply as supplier of the year and Don Mackey Architect Ltd. as design professional of the year.
Cherie Jamason, Michael Dermody and Ray Pezonella were recognized with the AGC's SIR Award. The acronym stands for "Skill, Integrity and Responsibility," and the award is given to people and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the state and the building industry.
Jamason is president and chief executive officer of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
Dermody, the president and chief executive officer of Dermody Properties, was recognized both for the growth of his company and for his community service.
Pezonella's firm, Pezonella Associates, is a civil, geotechnical and environmental engineering company. He also is active in community organizations.
