The Reno office of SKR Consulting won a contract for design and quality-control measures at an expanded leach pad planned by Allied Nevada Gold Corp. at its Hycroft Mine 54 miles west of Winnemucca.
Reno-based Allied Nevada said it awarded a design and construction contract for a new gold and silver refinery at the property to Summit Valley Engineering of Salt Lake City.
The mine has been inactive since late 1998.
