Applicants sought for financial advisory panel

Volunteer applicants are sought for the Reno city government's financial advisory board.

The 11-member board, which meets monthly, reviews city financial policies and makes recommendations for improving its financial condition.

Members also serve on the city's audit committee and on groups such as a committee studying tax fairness.

The City Council appoints members of the finance committee. The group currently has one vacancy with

several more expected to arise through 2008.

Applications for the board are available at the City Clerk's office on the 2nd floor of City Hall at 1 N. Virginia.
